Mr. Max E. Hughes

Mr. Max E. Hughes, son of the late Gerald and Martha Tomlison Hughes, was born in the Ruth Community of Pulaski County, KY on July 16, 1943 and he departed this life at his residence in the presence of his family on January 9, 2015 having attained the age of 71 years. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Carolyn Flynn Hughes on July 18, 1963, she survives. Other survivors include; one daughter, Belinda (and Mark) Johnson ; and one son, Anthony (and Jaclyn) Hughes all of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, J. Logan Forshee, Mason Hughes, and Hannah Nuneman and one sister, Sylvia (and Jewell) Tomlinson. Max was a devoted Christian and a wonderful family man and a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church. He enjoyed Woodworking, Hunting, Fishing Hiking and being out in nature enjoying God’s creation. He was a retired structural engineer for Mid-state Steel in Lexington, KY He will be deeply missed by his friends and family and leaves a host of relatives who will mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Robert F. Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the Keeney Cemetery. The family of Mr. Max E. Hughes will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, The Norton Cancer Institute or the Keeney Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be provided at the Pulaski Funeral Home. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Max E. Hughes.
