Mr. Robert Lee “Bobby” VanHook, son of the late James and Vena Phelps VanHook, passed away on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 24th, 1938 in Somerset having attained the age of 76. He was the husband of Betty Pettyjohn VanHook, she survives. He attended Heritage Hope Church of God and was retired from Crane Plumbing.
Survivors include; two daughters, Linda (Marlon) Keith, and Brenda Brashears, both of Bronston; one step-son, C.P. (Christa) Delk of Lancaster, Ohio; two step-daughters, Geanette (Gary) Carman of Somerset, and Hannah (Ken) Nilson of Winsor.
Survivors also include one brother, Eddie (Eloise) VanHook of Somerset; three sisters, Ruby Hill, Phyllis White (Carl), and Bonnie (Ralph) Simpson, all of Somerset; one Grandson, Shane Francis; five granddaughters, Ashley, Angie, Rebecca, Abby, and Katie. He also leaves behind a host of 11 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great Great-Grandchildren who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Phelps and Lonnie Ray Vanhook; one sister, Dorothy Phelps; and one daughter, Karen Renee VanHook who died as a very young child.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Altman, Bro. Mark Rott, and Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodwater Cemetery. The family of Mr. Bobby VanHook will receive friends at Pulaski Funeral Home Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions of sympathy be made to Pulaski Funeral Home in memory of Mr. Bobby VanHook.
