Vivian W. Sullivan

Mrs. Vivian Walden Sullivan, daughter of the late Heron and Muriel Isbell Walden (step-mother, Virginia Walden), was born March 25, 1937 at Greenwood, Kentucky and departed this life, December 15, 2014 in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 77 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Bobby Gene Sullivan, he survives. Other survivors include; a son, Robert Patrick (and Suzanne) Sullivan, Huntsville, AL; one brother, Paul Walden, Chicago, IL; two sisters, Margaret (and Bill) Mauney and Bobbie Walden of Somerset, KY; three grandchildren, Hillary, Robert Jr, and Cameron Sullivan. Nieces and nephews include: Natalee Feese (Lewis), Phillip Mauney, Amber Tongate (Jon), Michelle Shadoan (Scott), and Steven Shepard (Amber). Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by; a son, Heron Glenn (Corky) Sullivan; and two grandchildren, Tabitha and Heather Sullivan. Vivian was an active nurse for more than 40 years (Neonatal Clinical Coordinator at Lake Cumberland Medical Center) and deeply involved in her community. She was the Chairperson of the Planning and Zoning Committee for Burnside, KY; the President of the Burnside Women's Civic Club; and she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the First Baptist Church, Somerset. She was a kind and respected lady who loved children, community and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at the First Baptist Church Somerset with Dr. French Harmon and David Pendley officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnside Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Vivian Sullivan will receive friends at the Somerset First Baptist Church Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time for services. In lieu of flowers the Sullivan family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Burnside Women's Civic Club Scholarship Fund or the UK Markey Cancer Center (https://ukmarkey.org/).
