Mrs. Zelma Stevens

Zelma Stevens, daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Mayfield Meece, was born in Somerset, KY on February 3, 1922 and she departed this life on Friday, October 31, 2008 having attained the age of 86 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Alonzo Stevens. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Betty (and W. Richard) Wells of Somerset, KY; two grandchildren Brian Wells of Somerset, KY and Christina (and David) Eastham of Richmond, KY; three Great Grandchildren, Autumn Wells and Winston Wells of Somerset, KY and Noah Eastham of Richmond, KY; two brothers, Robert (and Odena) Meece, and Carl (and Lois) Meece all of Somerset, KY; and one sister, Effie Mae Hargis of Somerset, KY. Other than her parents and husband, Zelma was also preceded in death by; one son, Freddy Lee Stevens; one sister, Mandy Meece; one brother, Elbert Meece and one brother-in-law, Coy Hargis. Zelma was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Baptist Church, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting and other needlework arts. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Watkins and Rev. Junior Meece officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Zelma Stevens will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2008. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements of Mrs. Zelma Stevens.
