Janet M. Minton, age 84, was born in Hillsboro, Ohio on April 20th, 1930 and passed away on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 in Somerset, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lowell and Doris Lyon Starr, one brothers; Edward Lyon Starr and her husband, Robert "Bob" Minton.
She is survived by one son; Michael Minton of San Diego, California, three daughters; Margaret "Maggi" Minton (Donna Schiavone) of Texas, Carolyn "Shelly" Henson (Bill Wrighter), Pamela Hines (Richard) of Kentucky, one step-daughter; Sharon Hudson (Ernie) of Covington.
Also survived by one sister; Carolyn (Leonard "Bud") Gundler of Blanchester, Ohio, four grandchildren; Rebecca Henson, Anna Henson of Tellico Plains, TN, Josh Hines, and U.S. Coast Guard Chief Shawn & (Ashley Nicole) Hines, and great-grandchildren Shawn Beckett Hines and Avery Grace Hines.
She was of the Presbyterian faith and greatly enjoyed gardening, flowers, wild birds, and traveling. Janet was self employed as the owner and creator of Jang-L-ees Musical Windchimes. She attended numerous craft fairs and was also a member of the Gatlinburg Craftsman's fair for 35 years.
Private services are being conducted.
In lieu of flowers family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Somerset Family Fitness Center, Pulaski County Public Library or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
