Margaret Kathleen King

August 27, 1959 — November 19, 2014

Margaret Kathleen King, 55, of Ferguson, Kentucky, went to rejoice with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital following a short illness. She was born in Somerset, Ky., on August 27, 1959. Margaret was the daughter of late Homer Edward (Edd) Gallagher and the late Maggie Lou Gallagher. She was appointed Executive Committee member through the Offices of the Court for the Kentucky Citizens Care Foster Review Board. She was Team Leader for the West Side Cumberland Network out of Murray State University. She was also Vice President of the Lake Cumberland Foster Adoptive Parent Association. She loved to travel to the beach with her family, drinking coffee with her friends, and sitting around the pool in the summer time. Her husband and children were her entire life. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Somerset and was also a member of First Baptist Church. She proudly served in the United States Army and the Army Reserves. Margaret was survived in life by a husband, Lonnie, and nine children: Shawn, Joshua, Jacob, Christian, Maggie, Jordan, Levi, Rebekah, and Mary-Grace. She was also survived by three sibling, Francis Ferguson, Edwena Dyer, and John Gallagher. She was proceeded in death by parents Homer Edward (Edd) Gallagher and Maggie Lou Gallagher, siblings Mary Ann Hyden and Betty Gallagher, and nephews Scott Phelps and Joey Talbott. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. King will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2014 after 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
