Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Smith, son of the late L. N. and Euna Smith, was born in Eubank, Kentucky on June 24, 1941 and he departed this life on Sunday, November 9, 2014 having attained the age of 73 years. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mrs. Sandy Poynter on June 3, 1967, she survives. Other survivors include; one daughter, Robyn (and Steven) Kuhn of Knoxville, TN; and two grandchildren very special grandchildren, Juliana and Jackson Kuhn also of Knoxville. Tennessee. They loved their beloved Boppa very much. Also surviving is his Mother-in-law, Aliene Poynter; his brother-in-law, Don (and Patty) Poynter and their son and Bob’s nephew, Joey Poynter; one brother, Jimmie (and Connie) Smith and one sister, Bobbie Lou Jackson of Ohio. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; two brothers, Lonnie and Bill Smith; a sister, Wilma Jody; and his father-in-law, Clarence Poynter. Bob was a proud graduate of Eubank High School class of 1959, he excelled at Basketball and was one of Eubank High Schools best players. He served his country in the Air Force and completed a tour of duty. He was a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church where he served as an ordained Deacon. Bob retired from General Telephone and was currently employed of Walgreen Infusion Pharmacy of Somerset, Kentucky. Bob loved his family, life, and was a strong Christian with a firm belief that his heavenly home awaited him after this life. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Somerset First Baptist Church with Dr. French Harmon and Dr. Robert F. Browning officiating. The family of Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Smith will receive friends at the Somerset First Baptist Church from 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 until time for services at 6. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Kentucky 42503 Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Smith.
