Mr. Clarence Keeney

Mr. Clarence Keeney, son of the late Thomas Walter and Julia Ann Abbott Keeney, was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on November 12, 1915 and he departed this life on October 17, 2008 having attained the age of 92 years. He worked at the Somerset City Hospital for 13 years and then retired from the Lake Cumberland Medical Center after working there for 8 years. He also served for 4 years in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart, a Silver Star, and the European Theater Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. He was also a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He is survived by two daughters, Doris (and Jerry) Sebert of Hominy, Oklahoma and Janice (and Finley) Johnson of Science Hill, Kentucky. He is also survived by one brother, John Keeney of Alcalde, Kentucky, one sister Elizabeth Hall of Somerset, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Jeannie (and Andrew) Miller of Bixby, Oklahoma, Donna (and Billy) Davis of Olney, Texas, John (and Ashlie) Sebert of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Sarah (and Michael) Wallace of Ferguson, Kentucky, Samuel (and Andrea) Johnson of Science Hill, Kentucky; and four great-grandchildren Caleb Miller, Morgan Davis, Allie Davis, and Kolton Johnson. Also surviving him is Dana Woodson who was like a granddaughter. Preceding him in death are his wife Rebecca, whom he married on December 15, 1941 and who passed from this life on June 7, 2006; his parents; four brothers, Ernest Keeney, Lloyd Keeney, Herbert Keeney, Harold Keeney; one sister Dorothy Sears; two half-brothers Sam Keeney and Walter Keeney; and one half-sister Mabel Abbott. Family and Friends are invited to call Sunday after from 5 to 8 PM at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008. Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Clarence Keeney.
