Mr. Thomas R. Richardson, 71 of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 23, 1942 in Eubank, Kentucky to Jewell Williams Richardson and the late Thomas Palmer Richardson.
Other than his father, he was preceded to glory by his paternal grandparents, Jason and Mary Godby Richardson; and maternal grandparents, Jack and Ella Mae Salyers Williams.
He was united in marriage to Mary Susan Wilson Richardson on December 7, 1971 in Somerset, Kentucky. Left to celebrate his memory are his mother; his wife; one sister, Rosetta (and Jim) France; a son, Larry Ward (and Shannon) Richardson; a daughter, Leah Rae (and David John) Souders.
Tom was the proud grandfather of Ariel Paige Richardson, Mason Blake Richardson, Grant Edward Richardson, Lance Emerson Souders, Carinne Suzanne Souders, Lincoln Thomas Souders, Samantha Jones, Nevaeh Henderson, Michael Lysek and former daughter-in-law Carolyn Richardson Randall mother of Ariel, Mason and Grant.
He also leaves behind countless others whose lives he touched. Tom was a wise mentor, a loving father. And a fierce and devoted friend who loved and lived life to its fullest. He inspired others with his positive attitude and with his close personal walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. He was privileged to be a charter member of the Grace Baptist Church of Somerset, Kentucky.
Tom Spent nine years in the U. S. Army and was a 101st airborne Ranger. He was a commercial shopping center developer and an independent business owner and operator for many years.
As a hobby he was an avid gentleman farmer.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Middleburg Cemetery in Casey County, Kentucky.
The family of Mr. Richardson will receive friends at the Grace Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
