Verna Lee Lovell Meece

Mrs. Verna Lee Lovell Meece, age 71, of the Malvin Hill community in Somerset went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born on January 9, 1943 the daughter of the late Garner Lovell and Beulah Vanhook Lovell Bumgardner. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Baptist Church. She loved flowers, taking short rides, “outside gospel singings”, and her church. She married Bro. Claude Meece, Jr. on May 13, 1961, they had two children Michael and Angela Meece who preceded her in death, along with her sisters Geraldine Miller, Anna Ping, Joanne Kidwell; brothers, Donald and Wendell Lovell; and her father-in-law, Claude A. Meece. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bro. Claude Meece, Jr.; her sisters, Sue Carolyn and Mary Lou Bumgardner; her mother-in-law, Christine Meece; several aunts, uncles, and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Bullock and Bro. Ron Sears officiating. Burial will be in White Lily Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Verna Lee Meece will be after 6 PM Friday October 17, 2014 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
