Mrs. Nancy Taylor, daughter of the late Paul Shannon and Mary Adeline Crouch of Bourbon County, Kentucky, was born at Jackstown, Kentucky, in Nicholas County on May 8, 1934. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital following a short illness. She was united in marriage to Mr. Harold Ray Taylor on August 25th, 1952 at Nancy, Kentucky. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Guy Lane (and Vickie Lynn) Taylor; two daughters, Tammie Sue (and Michael) Simpson, and Mary Anne Taylor; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Ray Taylor and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor and a host of other friends and family. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Roger Crouch, and two sisters, Dolly Brewer and Martha Frakes. Nancy was the Church Secretary and the Music Secretary of the First Baptist Church of Somerset for 31 years. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and was a member of the Lafayette High School graduating class of 1952 in Lexington, Kentucky. Nancy devoted her life to her family and her church; she was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. James Cordell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Nancy Taylor will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008, at the Pulaski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Sardis United Methodist Church of 281 Sardis Road Nancy, Kentucky 42544. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Nancy Taylor.
