Robert H. "Zig" McClure

March 13, 1930 — September 18, 2014

Robert H. McClure "Zigger" 84 of Somerset Ky, was "promoted to Glory" Thursday, September 18, 2014. He was the son of the late Robert Ford McClure and Drucilla L. Bradshaw McClure and was a member of Parkers Mill Baptist Church. After graduating Somerset High School in 1949, the true story of Zigger McClure began. Because of his compassion and need to help people, he worked for the Somerset Fire Department for years and was one of the founders in creating the Somerset/Pulaski Rescue Squad. Through his passion for gardening and love of boats he was able to touch even more lives. He enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor at harvesting time, whether that was taking tomatoes to the local nursing homes or giving them to strangers; he loved people and people sure loved him; Wonderful memories of his life will last forever in the hearts that he influenced. He is preceded in death by his wife Glacia McClure and great-grand daughter Ashton Alexus Clouse; He has left behind to carry on his great name, a sister Marjorie Pophan, Mckees Port Pa; a daughter Jan Clouse Arnett of Somerset, two grandchildren Shawn Clouse and Shelley Clouse both of Somerset Ky; and one great-grandson Caleb Clouse. Please join us to celebrate Zig McClure's life at the Pulaski Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 10am Tuesday, September 23, 2014. The funeral services will begin at 2 pm Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Pulaski Funeral Home, followed by the burial at Tuttles Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pulaski Funeral Home for the Robert H. McClure Burial Fund. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be handling all arrangements.
