James Royce Purcell

Mr. James Royce Purcell, age 75 son of the late Leonard and Beulah (Randolph) Purcell was born on September 8, 1939 in Pulaski County, Kentucky and departed this life on Friday, September 12, 2014 at his residence in the presence of his family. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife; Jeanetta (Sears) Purcell, she survives. He is also survived by two daughters; Jamie Fitzgerald of Somerset, Kentucky, Jill Purcell of Chicago, Illinois, one brother; Wilford (and Edith) Purcell of Somerset, one sister; Helen Bumgardner of Somerset, two grandchildren; Matthew and Chelsie Fitzgerald both of Louisville, Kentucky, two sister-in-laws; Gloria (and Bill) Ramsey of Versailles, Kentucky, Sandra (and David) Wright of Somerset and host of nieces and nephews who all mourn his passing. James was a member Southside Church of Christ and loved being involved and helping anyway he could with his church. He was a retired route salesmen and was a Kentucky Wildcat fan. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Shawn Bain officiating. A private burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. James Royce Purcell will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Pulaski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers family request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to either Hospice of Lake Cumberland or to the American Cancer Society. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be handling all arrangements for Mr. James Royce Purcell.
