Helen Phelps Webb, age 88, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 16, 2014. She was born in the Norwood community of Pulaski County on September 28, 1925 to William Estel & Oda Morris Phelps, one of a family of nine.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Edward B. Webb on February 9th, 1944 as he was preparing to spend the following 19 months in Europe during World War II, he survives.
Other survivors include; her brother, Jack (and Louise) Phelps of Cincinnati, Ohio and a host of nieces and nephews who mourn her passing.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by the following brothers; Obie, Arnold, Charles, Oval, John and Paul Phelps; and one sister, Ola Noonan.
Helen was a licensed Practical Nurse at Somerset City Hospital and Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital from 1956 until retirement in 1989.
She was a member of the Science Hill Nazarene Church and she also had a great love for animals, having rescued 19 cats since her retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Helen Webb will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 12:00 noon Tuesday until time for services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to The Pulaski County Humane Society.
