Hazel Christine Moore, 99, of Somerset, KY passed away on Sunday, August 03, 2014 surrounded by her family at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on April 13, 1915 in McCreary County, KY the daughter of the late Irvin and Mattie Stephens.
As a Christian, she was of the Baptist faith and on many occasions made mention she was “Ready to be with her Lord.” She devoted her life to unconditional love for her family with a special devotion to her grandchildren who referred to her affectionately as “Grannie.”
Mrs. Moore is survived by her stepdaughter; Mary (Lloyd) Stykes of Somerset. Three grandchildren; Robin (Scott) Farmer, Steve (Cindy) Stykes, and Sharon (Mark) Latham. Six great grandchildren; Chad (Samantha) Stykes, Whitney (Ben) Gonzales, Craig (Kim) Stykes, Andrea (Justin) Creech, Jordan Latham and Matthew Latham. Three great-great grandchildren; Landon, Levi and Logan Stykes. She was also blessed with many nieces, nephews and a wonderful staff of nurses at Somerset Nursing Home.
Preceding her death was her husband, O.H. Moore in 1977.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery, in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
The family of Mrs. Hazel Moore will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 until time for services.
