Verlin Wayne Huddleston

February 5, 1927 — December 14, 2005

Mr. Verlin Wayne Huddleston, 78, of Mockingbird Drive, Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, December 14th, 2005 at Britthaven Nursing Home.  Mr Huddleston was born in Fonde, KY on February 5, 2=1927, the son of the late Elbert and mabel Demarcus Huddleston. He was a retired School Teacher in Ohio, and was also an owner of an Insurance Agency. He was also named as a Kentucky Colonel.  He served in the Armed Forces as a Private First Class in the U. S. Army in the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal w/1 Bronze Campaign Star and a Unitred Nations Service Medal. He adhered to the Baptist Faith.  Survivors include; two sisters,  Janet Decker of Somerset, KY and Mary Lynn (and Gene) Hurt also of Somerset, KY; two nephews,  Scott Decker and Don Hurt; three nieces, Kim Crouch, Andrea Dotson and Jeanne Sutton; and nine great nephews and nieces as well as a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16th, 2005 with Rev. Bill Haynes officiating.  Interment followed in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.  Pulaski Funeral Home was entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
