Wanda Elizabeth McDowell Simpson

Mrs. Wanda Elizabeth Simpson, daughter of the late James O. and Magola Roberts McDowell, was born September 16, 1927 and she departed this life on July 2, 2014 at the age of 86 years. She was first united in marriage to Mr. James O. Lynch, he preceded her in death, she was later united in marriage to Mr. Carl Lee “Ike” Simpson, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include; six children, Joseph Conley (and Lana) Lynch of San Angelo, TX, Lee (and Teresa) Lynch of Union, KY, Kenny (and Penny) Simpson of Cincinnati, OH, Dudley (and Sandi) Simpson of Somerset, KY, Michael Twins of Clinton, OK and Deborah (and Steve) Roy of Somerset, KY; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents and both husbands, she was also preceded in death by; one son, Vance Simpson; four brothers, Thomas, Joseph, Marion and James McDowell, Jr. and three sisters, Nellie Rengers, Rayna Goins, and Iona McDowell. Wanda was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Witt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Wanda Elizabeth Simpson will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
