Mr. Mearl Dan Price, age 78 of Stab Community, son of the late George B. and Leorma Whitaker Price was born on September 22, 1935 in Public, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Other than her his parents Mearl was preceded in death by his wife; Theresa (Williamson) Price, one infant daughter; Judy Price, two sisters; Opal Jean Price and Thelma Price, four brothers; Earl, Logan, Edgar and Rayford Price, one granddaughter; Ashley Dawn Wolsey.
Mearl is survived by two daughters; Debbie Ann (and Hubert) Rowe, Mariyln “Sue” (Price) Wolsey and her fiancé Ricky Cummins all of Somerset, three granddaughters; Rebecca Ann (and Michael Wayne) Richardson, Tabitha Lynn (and Roberto) Bravo, Erica Nichole (and Julio) Serrano all of Somerset. He also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren; Michael Tyler Dan Richardson, Krischa Desaray Richardson, Dakota Scott Silvers, Jacob Skyler Silvers, James Michael Morgan, Daniel Lee Morgan, Autumn Victoria Wolsey, Aubree Josseline Serrano, Arabella Renesmee Serrano and host of nieces and nephews who all mourn his passing.
Mearl was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Over the years Mearl worked as a Truck Driver for Ready Mix and retired from 20 years of service as Bus Driver for the Pulaski County School system and was the former owner of Price’s Water Haul. Mearls real passion was music, he was an avid musician and loved playing his guitar and banjo. Mearl has had the honor of performing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry with Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley, Earl Struggs and Loretta Lynn, he also had his own band Mearl Price and the Sandy Gap Boys.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Dallas Burton and Bro. Coy Ridner officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitaker Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Mearl Dan Price will receive friends after 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 until time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.
