Mr. Bluford “Blu” Day, son of the late Ronald Lee and Betty Jo Calhoun, was born in Covington, KY on May 16, 1957 and he departed this life on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio having attained the age of 51 years.
He was united in marriage to Marie Day who survives. Other survivors include; four daughters, Amanda Day Short of Dayton, Ohio, Chelcie Marie Day of Burnside, KY, Kristen Cara Day of Burnside, KY and April Brown of Ohio, five grandchildren, LeShay Brown, Isaac Deven Ikerd, Savannah Short, and Samantha and Gregory Short; four sisters, Faith Yvonne Ikerd of Burnside, KY, Sherry Lynn Harness of Pioneer, TN.,
Gina C. Stephens of Burnside, KY and Martha Jo Meece of Science Hill, KY.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; one brother, Ronald Joe Day and his very special maternal grandmother, Iree Losey,
He was a Bass player for the Twin Rivers Band, and he was a member of the Eagle Heights Baptist Church.
He was a kind person and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves a host of relatives, and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. LeRoy Goldson and Rev. David Bullock officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2008.
