Ethel Cundiff

Ethel Cundiff, 86, 3260 Oak Hill Rd. Somerset, KY. 42503, passed away, August 1, 2008, at Somerset Nursing and Rehab following an illness. Mrs. Cundiff was born on August 20, 1921 in the Slate Branch Community. She was the daughter of Willie and Mary Jones Buchanan. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Cundiff on February 4, 1940 until his passing on December 19, 1982. Survivors include two daughters, Sara Ann (and Phil) Lehman of Dayton, OH, Mildred Mae (and Melvyn) Stringer of Somerset, KY., one son; Robert W. (Bobby) Cundiff of Somerset, KY. Five grandchildren, Gregory Lunar (Debbie) Merrick of Dayton, OH, Patrick Bryon (Andrea) Stringer of Somerset, KY., Cynthia Ann (Jason) Welch of Allen, TX., Monica Jill (Raymond) Smith of Somerset, KY., and Kelley Joe (Story) Stringer of Loveland, CO. Mrs. Cundiff is also survived by six great grandchildren; Whitley Stringer, Taylor Merrick, Ali Merrick, Tori Merrick, Graham Welch, Cora Welch and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Robert J, Cundiff, and daughter; Dottie Grace Cundiff, her parents; Willie and Mary Jones Buchanan, six brothers; Ephraim, Hubert, Herbert , Hestel, Everett, Harold, two sisters, Esta Buchanan, and Hazel Buchanan Cundiff. Mrs. Cundiff was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 2:00p.m. The family of Ethel Cundiff will receive friends on Sunday August 3, 2008 at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6p.m. Burial will follow in the Slate Branch Cemetery.
