Geneva Vaught

January 22, 1928 — May 17, 2014

Geneva Vaught, daughter of the late William M. and Lillie Dykes Baker, was born in the Hail Community of Pulaski County, KY on January 22, 1928 and she departed this life on May 17, 2014 having attained the age of 86 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Arnold E. Vaught on September 5, 1949 in Somerset, Kentucky, he preceded her in death in February of 1968. Survivors include; two daughters, Nancy (and Orwin) Kuhnapfel of Somerset, KY, and Donna Jean Vaught (and Sam Brinson); two grandchildren, Jordan Kuhnapfel of Somerset, KY and Justin (and Leanze) Kuhnapfel of Nicholasville, KY; one brother, Billy Gene Baker; three sisters, Dorothy Eads, of Merritt Island, FL, Shirley Turpin and Carrie Mounce of Somerset, KY; a step-daughter, Judy Ann (and Jim) Whitaker; a special friend, James D. Smith; two step-grandchildren, Lisa Walker and Scott Whitaker and three step great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends who will mourn her passing. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Claude, Harold and Floyd Baker; and two sisters, Ramona Tomlinson and Delpha Barnes. Geneva was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2, but attended Denham Street Baptist Church most recently. She was a longtime restaurant owner and employee. The family would like to to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation for the loving care given to our mother during the nearly seven years of being in their care, as well as Dr. Allison Cherry for her compassion and expertise care of our mom. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Somerset Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Geneva Vaught will receive friends form 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Morning May 20, 2014 until time for services. In lieu pf flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzhiemer's Association or the Pulaski County Humane Society. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Geneva Vaught.
