Sarah Gertrude Prather

Mrs. Sarah Gertrude Prather, daughter of the late Albert and Genetta Wilson Tarter, was born on December 16, 1917 and she departed this life on Friday, August 01, 2008 having attained the age of 90 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Beecher Prather on October 01, 1937, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; one daughter, Lecreita (and Ray) Roberts of Nancy, KY; one son-in-law, Mr. R. V. Erp, of Nancy, KY; three grandchildren, Gerald (and Yvonne) Roberts, Garnet (and Sarah) Roberts, and Lessie (and Michael) Wilson; 5 great grandchildren, Valerie (and Michael) Cook, and Christopher, Bradley, Kelsey, and Madison Roberts; one brother, Elbert (and Opal) Tarter of Lafayette, IN, and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Other than her parents, and husband, she was also preceded in death by; one daughter, Fayrene Erp; one brother, Oval Tarter; and one sister, Velna Molden. Mrs. Prather enjoyed cooking and needlepoint. She has made many quilts which the family will cherish for many years to come. She was a kind lady and a member of the Sardis Methodist Church. Her Lord and her family were most dear to her heart. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her, she leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who both mourn her passing and celebrate her homegoing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Todd Cemetery at Nancy, KY. The family of Mrs. Sarah Gertrude Prather will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
