Mr. Carl Mayfield

Carl C. Mayfield, age 78, of Somerset, KY, formerly of Lafayette, IN went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Sue Prather Mayfield, whom he married on August 12, 1961 in Somerset, KY. He was raised in the Slate Branch community. He was a U.S. veteran, having served 18 months in Germany. He worked for 34 years and retired from Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) of Lafayette, IN. He was a former member of the 25 year club and was an avid golfer. He was also a longtime member of the Creasey Lane Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN, where he was a trustee and assistant treasurer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Roxie Mayfield, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Beatrice Prather. He is survived by siblings, Lessie (and George) Brown, Robert "Bob" Mayfield, Allen Mayfield, Curtis (and Fayrene) Mayfield, and Shirley (and Billy) Wilson. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and  great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. A great niece; Sidney Paige Wilson, was very special to him. The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Gilbert Robinson, Bro. Darry Hatfield and David Wilson M. D. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be; Perry Prather, Mike Prather, Billy Wilson, Reed Crawford, David Wilson, and Barry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers include, John and Andrew Wilson. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1403 East Mt. Vernon Street, Somerset, KY 42501.
