Mr. Joseph Eugene Burns, age 69 of Somerset, dies Friday, April 18, 2014 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.   He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 13, 1944, to Thomas Carl Burns and Nellie Mae Swartz. He retired from Crane Plumbing and was a long time member of Campground Baptist Church in Somerset.   He is survived by two daughters; Tammy Bass (husband James Bass) and Ashley Barnett (Husband John Wesley Barnett) all of Somerset; two grandchildren, Josiah Wesley Barnett and Jeremiah William Barnett; two sisters, Margret Ann Calder (husband Don Calder), and Shirley May Bowling (Johnny Bowling-deceased) and one brother, Thomas Clayton Burns; and life-long friend, Donald Ping.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Lee Burns; a grandson, Jaxon Ray Bass; and an infant brother.   A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post#38 honor guard.   In lieu of gifts, family request donations to assist with burial expenses to Pulaski Funeral Home. Any donation above the funeral expenses will be donated to Campground Baptist Church.   Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements.
