Bonnie Louise Whitaker Denham Goff Phelps, 86, passed away Thursday, April 3rd, 2014. She was born on the 9th day of September 1927 in Decatur, Il., daughter of Silas Milton Whitaker and Minnie Bell Estep Whitaker who preceded her in death when she was a child and later by six brothers, Bill Whitaker, Harry Whitaker, Sam Whitaker, Roy Whitaker, Howard Whitaker, and Butch Whitaker; and a sister, Euna Welton.
She was an avid reader, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class and its members. She also loved to do Embroidery Hand Work. She was also a diehard University of Kentucky Basketball fan.
Her adoptive parents were Talmadge and Nellie Denham of Somerset, Kentucky who preceded her in death along with three brothers, Frank Denham, Jethro Denham, and Arthur Denham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hayden Goff; three children, Ronnie, David, and Hayden Goff; a granddaughter, Jennifer Joyce Goff, and a grandson, Christopher Neal Goff.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Wayne Phelps; a son, Chuck & (Darlene) Goff of Somerset, KY and Eugene & (Phyllis) Goff of Somerset, KY; a daughter, Nellie & (Mike) Richardson of Danville, KY; a son, Jerry & (Cheryl) Phelps of Somerset, KY; twelve grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, April 6th, 2014 at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Don Jones and Bro. Danny Pace officiating.
Burial will be in West Somerset Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Bonnie Louise Phelps will be from 5-8 PM Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
