The Rev. Warren Carroll, beloved pastor and member of the community and son of the late Samuel and Nola Alice Bullock Carroll, was born at Public, Kentucky on June 21, 1921. He departed this life on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the age of 92 years.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 73 years, Hattie Molee Smith Carroll, whom he married on May 11, 1940. Other survivors include two sons, Jim Carroll of Smithville, Tennessee, and Danny (and Kathy) Carroll of Somerset, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Jay (and Sondra) Carroll of Hamilton, Ohio, Michelle Carroll of Mason, Ohio and James Daniel (and Joy) Carroll of Somerset, KY; six great grandchildren, Dale Belzer, Madison Belzer, Alex Becker, Kenny Carroll, Megan Carroll, and Molee Belle Carroll; one brother, Willard Carroll of Washington State, and one sister, Bea Chaney of London, KY.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; one sister, Lura Taylor.
Rev. Carroll was a Baptist minister for more than 47 years, pastoring many churches in Ohio and Kentucky, and holding revivals in many more. He also spent 16 years as an instructor at the Cumberland Baptist Institute helping educate future ministers.
Rev. Carroll had a distinguished military career during World War II, flying 27 bombing missions over enemy territory. He also was honored as a Kentucky Colonel. He was a kind person who was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing and celebrate his going home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Tarter officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy, KY.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
