Verlene Tarter “Val” Wesley, daughter of the late Athel Harold and Alma Burton Tarter, was born at Norfleet, Kentucky on January 25th, 1937 and she departed this life on February 24th, 2014 from an extended battle with Lung cancer.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Edgar “Ed” Wesley on November 12, 1955, he survives. They were happily married for more than 58 years. She is also survived by one daughter, Tammie Wesley (and Jimmy) Hendren; six grandchildren, Jason Wesley, Justin Wesley, Jaime Wesley, Amber Dillman Silbernagel, Chad Dillman, Bradley Hendren; one brother, Paul Wayne Crew and eleven great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by; her only son, David Wesley; and one brother, Oren Tarter.
Verlene and Ed were the former owners of Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream and the Treasure Chest Florist in Somerset, Kentucky, she was a graduate of the 1954 graduating class of Nancy High School.
The family of the Wesleys and the Hendrens would like to thank the Gulfside Hospice for their loving care and all the family, friends, neighbors and church members that have been a huge support during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Pastor Guy Sanders of the First Baptist Church of New Port Richey , Florida officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs national Cemetery at Nancy, Kentucky
