Mrs. Helen Dykes Flynn

Mrs. Helen Dykes Flynn, daughter of the late Jessie O. and Sarah Grace Baker Dykes, was born on March 8, 1926 and she departed this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 having attained the age of 87 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Wesley Eugene "Gene" Flynn on April 26, 1953 and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2012 after 59 years of marriage. Survivors include; one brother, Jewell Dykes of Somerset, Kentucky; four sisters, Geneva Dykes, Clementine Warren, and Madeline (and Charles) Ping all of Somerset, Kentucky and Fern Virlardo of Cincinnati, Ohio; a special friend, Frances Whitaker and her son Vance Whitaker, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by; seven brothers, Curtis, Bill, Commodore, Cyrus, Ansel, Arthur, and William Dykes and four sisters, Rosie Bradley, Flonnie Hardwick, Betty Goodin, and Eva Dykes. Helen was retired from Palm Beach Manufacturing where she worked as a fitter for many years. She was also a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Helen was a kind lady who will be dearly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Flynn will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Roberts and Rev. Vance Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Helen Flynn will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home form 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014.
