Mrs. Georgia Louise Gilliland

Georgia Louise Gilliland, daughter of the late William Anderson and Madeline Phelps Sewell, was born Monday, September 27, 1926 and she departed this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 having attained the age of 87 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Curtis Gilliland, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; two sons, Curtis L. Gilliland, Jr. and his wife, Louise and Ernest P. Gilliland all of Somerset, KY; three grandchildren, Nicole (and Stephen) McNeill of LaVernia, TX, Ernest P. Gilliland, Jr. of Somerset, KY, and Crystal (and Parker) Tucker of Parkers Lake, KY; two great grandchildren, Erin and Zane McNeill; nine brothers and sisters, Richard (and Jewell) Sewell, Phyllis Whitis, Betty (and Dave) Bingham, Gerald (and Barbara) Sewell, Donald (and Judy) Sewell, James (and Joyce) Sewell, Wanda (and Jack) Meece, Merrlyn (and Bobby) Crow, Doris (and Bill) Hensley; one aunt, Geneva Phelps Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Bobbi Jo Holt, Lois Gilliland; one brother-in-law, Paul Horton. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. She was preceded in death her husband, Curtis Gilliland; her parents, William Anderson, and Lloyd and Madeline Phelps Sewell; by a daughter who died in infancy; a daughter-in-law, LaDonna Bridges Gilliland; four sisters-in-law, Ruby Speaks Sewell, Lucille Horton, Dean Wells, and Maxine Hinkle; and four brothers-in-law, Verel Whitis, Linville Gilliland, Lawrence Hinkle and Wenzel Wells. Georgia was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church and she worked at Palm Beach Manufacturing for more than 50 years before retiring. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home, with Bro. Don Branscum, and Bro. Steve Meece officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Georgia Louise Gilliland will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 until time for services.
