Eugene Watkins

Mr. Eugene Watkins, son of the late Leonard A. and Ada James Watkins, was born October 8, 1928 in Dykes, KY and he departed this life on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Leitchfield, KY having attained the age of 85 years. He accepted Christ as his savior at a very young age and truly loved his Lord. He was a Korean Army Veteran, a very kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed. Eugene is survived by ; one son, Michael Watkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Sharon Cohorn and Rhonda Davidson and his former wife, Lola Faye Watkins all of Manchester, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; four brothers, Leland Watkins of Leitchfield, Kentucky, William “Bill” Watkins of Brookville, Indiana, Cecil Watkins of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ronnie Watkins of Lexington, Kentucky; four sisters, Lena Price of Trenton, Ohio, Zena Vanhook of Harrison, Indiana, Delma Candido and Dean Conley of Somerset, Kentucky and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives who mourn his passing. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; one brother-in-law, Joseph Candido; one sister-in-law, Juanita Price Watkins; two nephews, Gary Vanhook, and Billy Watkins, Jr. and one great grandchild, Blake Allen Cohorn. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Pace officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38. The Family of Mr. Eugene Watkins will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 until time for services.
