Edmund Baker, age 82, of Somerset, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. He was born at Hail, KY on September 26, 1931, the son of the late Thomas R and Elva Barber Baker. He was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Baker, who died in infancy. Mr. Baker was united in marriage to the late Dorothy J. Hunt Baker on May 13, 1955. They were constant companions until her passing on February 13th, 2012. “Dot” was the ultimate love of his life and the person for whom he lived. Mr. Baker is survived by two daughters; Melissa (and Kevin) Bradley of Atlanta, GA; and Kathy (and Jeff) Bishop of Eubank, KY; two grandchildren, Erika (and Don) Johnson, and Ashley Bishop Kerr of Somerset, KY and one great grandchild, Mason K. Kerr. Mr. Baker was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He spent his tour of duty in various cities in Germany. Mr. Baker retired from Hinkle Contracting after 35 years of service. He was an excellent Diesel Mechanic and supervised the shop and truck drivers, he was a self- taught musician and enjoyed playing the Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin and Fiddle for many years. Graveside services for Mr. Edmund Baker will be held at the Mausoleum Chapel of the Lakeside Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014. The family of Mr. Baker will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Edmund Baker.
