Mrs. Olive (Weddle) Dawes, age 94, of Nancy, Kentucky daughter of the late William Elwood and Callie Muse Weddle was born in Faubush, Kentucky on December 19, 1919 and departed this life on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at her residence in the presence of her family.
Olive was united in marriage on October 9, 1937 to Virl Dawes, he preceded her death, she was also preceded in death by her parents, and one sister; Lucille Weddle Norfleet.
She is survived by one sister; Willena Atkins of Somerset, Kentucky, one nephew; David (and Judy) Atkins of Linton, Indiana, one niece; Regena Owen of Nancy, Kentucky, two great-nieces; Shellie (and Jimmy) Young of Nancy, Kentucky, Missie (and Zeb) Davis of Monticello, Kentucky. She also leaves behind several extended family members and friends who all mourn her passing.
Olive was a member of Old Pleasant Point Baptist Church in Ingle, Kentucky, after she retired in 1988 from being a cook at Sunrise Manor she attended the First Nazarene Church in Somerset, Kentucky. Olive loved sewing, quilting and cooking for family, friends and anyone in need.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Atkins officiating. A committal service will be held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
The family of Mrs. Olive Weddle Dawes will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, 2013 after 2:00 p.m. until times for services at the funeral home.
