Mr. Ben Wesley, son of the late John Paul and Stella Wesley, was born at Bethelridge, Kentucky on March 18, 1922 and he departed this life on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Somerset, Kentucky having attained the age of 91 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Gloria Lavonne Osborne Wesley on May 23, 1944 in Eubank, Kentucky, she preceded him in death. Survivors include two sons; Dale Thomas Wesley and his wife, Vicki Gumm Wesley of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Ken Wesley and his wife Connie Isaacs of Nancy, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Nelson C. (and Betsy Jo) Wesley, Joy Y. (and Gonzalo) Lopez, Jessica L. (and Buddy) Berry, Sarah L. (and Roger) Thomas, Clayton T. (and Caresse) Wesley; eleven great grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Montie Wesley of Louisville, Kentucky and Ruby Osborne of Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Other than his parents and wife, Ben was also preceded in death by four brothers, Dan, Leon, Rolan, and Rex Wesley.
Ben was a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the Somerset First Baptist Church. When he was active, he was a Stylist and Cosmetician with his wife in their beauty shop for many years. He was also a farmer and loved woodworking. He was a kind person who will greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Ben Wesley will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be conducted for Mr. Wesley by the American Legion Post # 38 Honor Guard.
The family of Mr. Ben Wesley will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Monday December 2, 2013 until time for services. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
