Mr. Delma Lonas Simpson of Stab, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his residence having reached the age of 96 years 10 months and 7 days. He was born on November 22, 1916 in Bent, Kentucky to Coleman Simpson and Lottie Harris (Hawk) Simpson. Served in World War II in South Pacific Islands and Australia from 1942-1946. He was united in marriage to Edna Marie Harper, who preceded him on death, he was also preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather; Rothel Hawk, a son; James Delma Simpson, a grandchild; Marcy Anne Higgins, an infant sister, 3 brothers; Clinton, Charles and Carlos Hawk. Delma is survived by the following children; Linda Sue (and Glenn) Ping, Ruby Joyce Higgins, Lottie Jane (and Bob) Trowbridge, Nancy Mae (and Jim) Higgins, Anthony Dwight "Tony" (and Billie) Simpson, Melody Marie Simpson and Thomas Trace Simpson, the following grandchildren; Anna (and Jeff) Mize, Edward Bullock, Michelle (and Mike) Richardson, Jamie Simpson, Steven (and Hope) Higgins, Elaine (and Steve) Hall, Corey (and Chris) Criswell, Mary Higgins, Whitney (and Nathaniel) Harden, Alex Simpson, Jacinda Tonelli, August, Emarie and Reagan Simpson, great-grandchildren; Miranda (and Ben) Hunt, Caitlin (and Jonathan) Mize, Cameron and Zachary Bullock, Christopher and LaShea Richardson, Jacob Hodgens, Angel Denney, Allison and Molly Higgins, Samantha (and Lance) Minton, Deanna Bowles, Dakota Lee, Jackson Hall and Isabella Hardin, great-great grandchildren; Owen Hunt, Maverick Hunt and Conner Minton, sisters; Marie Farmer of Bargersville, Tennessee, Marlene Dolen of Rodgersville, Tennessee and Fales Hawk of Woodstock, Kentucky. Delma was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and was a farmer. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Alan Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Price Valley Cemetery. The family of Mr. Delma Simpson will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2013 after 9:00 a.m. until time for service at Pulaski Funeral Home. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Delma Lonas Simpson.
