David Linville Bell, 65, of Somerset, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Hospital due to illness.
He was born September 16, 1948 in Pulaski County to Charley and Margery (Wesley) Bell. He grew up in the Nancy community on the “Bell Farm” with his nine brothers and sisters. He graduated from Somerset High School. David worked in a variety of occupations throughout his life: farming, woodworking, and manufacturing. He was an avid reader; he enjoyed gardening, painting, and had a soft spot for animals. He was a talented roller skater, quite the dancer, and loved to cheer on the Kentucky Wildcats.
He was a beloved father, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his daughter, Andrea (and Phillip) Keeney of Somerset, a sister, Darlene Hall of Somerset, five brothers, Preston, Roy, and Sam Bell of Indiana, Gary Bell of Ohio, and Morris Bell of Somerset. He was an uncle to a host of nieces and nephews; including three very special great nieces and nephew, Ashley, Steven, and Destiny Hall of Somerset.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers John, Charley Junior, and Darrell Bell, and a son, David Arnold Bell.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 5-7 pm at Pulaski Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held that evening at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Disease Respite Center of Somerset. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
