Mr. Dudley Yahnig, son of the late Joe Richard and Clara Simpson Yahnig, was born at Grundy, KY on July 18, 1921, and he departed this life in the presence of family on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 having attained the age of 86 years.
He was first united in marraige to Aline Shadoan Yahnig and she preceded him indeath on May 15, 1992. He was later united in marriage to Betty Nicholas Hudson Yahnig. She was the widow of the late Herman Hudson. She survives. Other survivors include; one son, Carl Henry (and Polly) Yahnig of Hopkinsville, KY, two daughters, Carolyn (and Oneal) Spaw of Somerset, KY, and Marilyn (and David) Blevins of Somerset, KY; one step-son, Gary Hudson of Nancy, KY; six grandchildren, Jayne Ellen (and Robert) Southerland of Lexington, KY, John Ryan (and Angel) Yahnig of Louisville, KY, Natalie (and Chris) Westerfield of Hopkinsville, KY, Randy (and Kim) Spaw of Owensboro, KY, Rodney (and Kelly) Spaw of Henderson, KY, and Ron Blevins of Somerset, KY; three step grandchildren, Sherri (and Scott) Spahr of Science Hill, KY, Jason Hudson of Somerset, KY and Jonathan Hudson of Somerset, KY; five great grandchildren, Rob, Hawk, and Julia Sutherland, and Parker Yahnig and Lucy Spaw, two step great grandchildren, Haley and Nevaeh Hudson; two brothers, Richard Yahnig of Somerset, KY, and Frank (and Pearl Yahnig of Somerset, KY; three sisters, Jessie (and Larry) Dalton of Somerset, KY, Christine (and Paul) Knopp of Virginia, and Josephine (and Bearl) Elliott of Oklahoma.
Other than his parents and first wife, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Harry and Johnny Yahnig.
When Dudley was actively working, he was a dairy farmer, he was a member and a deacon at the Parkers Mill Baptist Church, and he was also a World war II Army Veteran. Mr. Yahnig was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a large host of relatives, friends and church family who both morn his passing and celebrate his homegoing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, may 31, 2008 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Darry Hatfield, and Eld S.L. Sears will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.
The family of Mr. Dudley Yahnig will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Parkers Mill Baptist Church or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan in memory of Mr. Dudley Yahnig.
