Mrs. Hester E. Blevins Raney, daughter of the late Martin Sebastian and Bessie Haga Blevins, was born at Bee Lick, Kentucky on August 24, 1933 and she departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 having attained the age of 80 years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Cressel Raney, he survives. Other survivors include; two sons, Richard Raney, Sr. and his wife Kathy of Waldron, IN and Stanley Raney and his wife Tina of Somerset, KY; five daughters, Lillian Raney of Eubank, KY, Laura Thompson and her husband Eddie of Fortville, IN, Janet Caldwell and her husband Chapp of Somerset, KY, Sharon Gilliam and Shelia Raney both of Eubank, KY; one brother, Elmer Blevins and his wife Nellie, two sisters, Mildred Smith and her husband Vola, and Wilma Harris; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by; one daughter, Clara Raney; one brother, Victor Blevins; and two sisters, Edna Hawk and Stella Dardeen.
Hester was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother, she was a member of the Barnesburg Baptist Church and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her, she leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 with Bro. Harold Harris and Bro. Tony Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Raney – Inabnitt Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Hester Raney will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday October 24, 2013 until time for services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
