Dorothy Love Thomas, age 89, daughter of the late Sam and Sarah Love was born on November 2, 1918 in Indianapolis; IN., and departed this life on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Besides her parents Dorothy is preceded in death by her first husband Gilbert Greener; one child, Sharon A. (and Robert) Baize of Bowling Green, KY., blessed this union and she survives. She was later united in marriage to William Thomas who also preceded her in death. Dorothy is also preceded in death by one brother; Charles Love and two sisters; Ruth Love, and Josephine Roysdon
Dorothy is survived by two brothers; Clarence (and Mabel) Love, and Joseph and Elouise) Love; one sister; Mary Norfleet. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Shelby II (and Pamela) Baize of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; Robert G. Baize of Yuba City, California; and John A. “Jack” Baize of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She is also survived by four great grandchildren; Shelby III, William R., Phillip K., and Joshua D. Baize. Dorothy is also survived by many nieces and nephews who thought of her as a mother and grandmother.
Dorothy was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green, KY. Dorothy worked for the State Government at Oakwood Training Facility.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.
The family of Dorothy Thomas will receive friends on Thursday May, 22, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
Burial will be held in the West Somerset Cemetery.
