Ruth McDowell

September 1, 1930 — May 19, 2008

Ruth McDowell, daughter of the late Reed and Nannie Nevels Owens, was born at Nevelsville, KY on September 1, 1930 and she departed this life on May 19, 2008 having attained the age of 77 years. Survivors include; three children, Brenda McDowell, Daniel Staley, and Dennis “Tinker” McDowell; seven grandchildren, Sandra McDowell, Danyel Parmley, Polly Sawyers, Jordan Gossett, Jacob McDowell, Steven McDowell, Denver McDowell; nine great grandchildren, Jordon Sawyers, Hannah Sawyers, Tanner McDowell, Kendra Parmley, Drew Sawyers, Katelyn Parmley, Kiley Barnett, Danny Parmley and Samuel Parmley; two brothers, Dean (and Freda) Owens, and Mike (and Brenda) Owens; three sisters, Elaine (and Cecil) Walker, Irene New, and Peggy Gabbard and a large host of other relatives, friends and church family who both mourn her passing and celebrate her homegoing. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by; three brothers, Billy, Bill and Hoyt Owens, and one sister who died in infancy; Kathy Owens. Ruth was a kind person, and a member of the Neely’s Creek Baptist Church. She will always be known for her fun loving ways and for her love of the Lord and people. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Goldson officiating. Burial will take place on Thursday Morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Nevelsville Cemetery. The family of Ruth McDowell will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time for services Wednesday evening. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all funeral arrangements for Ruth McDowell.
