Mr. Claude Housley of 504 Main Cross Road, Taylorsville, KY, son of the late William and Millie Sowders Housley, was born in Marion Co., KY., on March 22, 1916 and he departed this life in the presence of his family on Saturday, May 17, 2008 having attained the age of 92 years. He was united in marriage to Alberta Sapp, she preceded him in death.
Survivors include; four sons, Claude Housley, Jr of Taylorsville, Jerry Housley of Shelbyville, Larry Housley of Carrolton, and Ernie Housley of Bardstown; four daughters, Dorothy Collins of Louisville, Dolly (and Jerry) Buechele of Fisherville, Becky Cox of New Albany, Brenda Jones of Louisville. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Other than his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one son, Alvin Housley, and one daughter, Joyce Williams.
Mr. Housley was a self employed Farm Mechanic, and he was a member of the Fisherville Baptist Church for many years. He was a kind and gentle person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday May 20, 2008 at the Fisherville Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff McCarty officiating.
Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens.
The family of Mr. Claude Housley will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until time for services at the church.
