Mrs. Jewell “Judy” Littrell Cummins passed away from this life on Sunday, September 8, 2013 and went to be with the Lord.
She was born August 31, 1925 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, daughter of the late C.M. and Clara Littrell she was married to her husband; W.C. “Jack” Cummins, who died on May 12, 1984. They were united in marriage on September 23, 1942 at the First Christian Church with the late L.D. Fisher officiating.
She was a life-long member of the First Christian Church and the Adams Sunday School. Also she enjoyed living a member of the Moon Beam Homemakers Club and Senior Friends. She had been an Associate of Wal-Mart for more than 20 years and enjoyed the commrodary of her friends she worked with and her peers. She was privileged to see the children of some of her customers grow into young adults during her time there.
She is survived by one daughter; Sandra Gayle (and Don) Wood of Blue Water Bay, Niceville, Florida, four grandchildren; Tracy (and Mike) Adams of Navarre, Florida, Clint (and Elizabeth) Cummins of Folsom, Louisiana, Carrie (and Mark) McAdams of Covington, Louisiana and Jacob Cummins of Danville, Kentucky, five great-grandchildren; Jillian Emily Adams of Navarre, Florida, Nicole Leann Adams of Navarre, Florida, Grey Robert Cummins of Folsom, Louisiana, Luke Vernon McAdams of Covington, Louisiana and Grace McAdams, the following nieces and nephews; Jeffery (and Margaret) Littrell of Somerset, Kentucky, Steve (and Rita) Littrell of Somerset, Kentucky, Cleatus (and Dorothy) Estes of Somerset, Kentucky, Roger Littrell of Charlotte, South Carolina, Dr. David (and Peggy) Littrell of Union, Kentucky, Ann (and Jack) Cochran of Lexington, Kentucky, Dale(and John) Allen of Lexington, Kentucky, Paula (and Gaines) Greene of Lexington, Kentucky, Bonnie Littrell and Kent of Cincinnati, Ohio and Florida, Connie (and Gary) Mills of Loveland, Ohio, Pam (and Ed) Vonbargen of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jamie Wink of Georgetown, Kentucky, Nicole Littrell of Pensacola, Florida and Sarah Jane Littrell of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, three sisters-in-law; Margaret Littrell of Somerset, Kentucky and Janet Littrell of Loveland, Ohio. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kennedy for his continuing medical care and friendship during our loved ones lifetime.
Other than her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her only son; Jack Bruce Cummins who passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2006; three brothers; Jeffery Littrell, Foster Littrell and Don Littrell; two sisters; Zella Estes and Lena Ayers, she is also preceded in death by infant twins who died at birth and one aunt; Leddie Littrell.
Her passion was sewing and cooking for her family and friends. You could always expect her home to be surrounded by beautiful flowers she loved to share with friends.
Judy was a kind and loving person who will greatly be missed by everyone who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives, friends, and church family who mourn her passing and celebrate her home going.
She will lie in state at the Somerset First Christian Church on Hwy 39 in Somerset, Kentucky from 11:00 a.m. until time for services at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
She will be laid to rest in the Liberty Cemetery at Bee Lick in the Littrell section of the cemetery with her husband, her son, her father, mother and infant twins.
In lieu of flowers family request expressions of sympathy to be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund.
