Mr. Virgil Bray, son of the late Jonathan and Sally Mary Troxtell Bray, was born at Denny’s Gap, KY on January 27, 1914 and he departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2013 in Somerset, Kentucky having reached the age of 99 years. He was united in marriage to Nannie Neely Bray, she preceded him in death. Survivors include seven Children; Anne Lee (and Lynn) Haynes Hackworth of Eubank, KY, Thomas Dewey (and Wilma) Bray of Kipton, OH, Kenneth Ray (and Dianna) Bray of Bronston, KY, Donna Kay (and Pete) Taylor of Somerset, KY, Michael Wayne (and Brenda) Bray of Norwalk, OH, Oren Eugene (and Mary May) Bray of Somerset, KY, Mary Ruth (and Dale) Troxtle of Bronston, KY; thirty-six grandchildren; Susie Buchanan, Angie Buchanan, Jamie Buchanan, Albert Haynes, Mark Haynes, Luke Haynes, Deanna Bray, Thomasine Bray, Phillip Bray, Billy Bray, Ernest Bray, Melissa Bray, Beth Bray, Jonathan Bray, Josie Ann Bray, Bobby Dan Bray, Rebecca Bray, Richard Bray, Andy Bray, Shane Bray, Bobby Gene Bray, Stoney Bray, Virgil Bray, James Bray, Kenny Bill Bray, Nanny Bray, Julie Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Christy Auxier, Thomas Auxier, Larry Auxier, Christopher Bray, Timothy Bray, Kayla Troxtle, J. D. Troxtle, and Tom Troxtle; seventy great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. Other than his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by; five children, Wilma Joyce Buchanan, Billy Bray, Virgil Bobby John Bray, Wanda Faye Auxier and Brenda Sue Bray; two sisters, Elsie Bray Morrow and Edna Bray Neely; one brother, "Junior" Worley; and three grandchildren, Matthew Haynes, Christopher Bray and Christian Bray. Virgil was a retired welder from Cleveland Quarries of South Amherst, OH. Earlier in life he served in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a charter member and Deacon of the Old Fashioned Grace Baptist Church of South Amherst, OH, although not actively serving in church at the present, he was very adamant in knowing that his family and friends knew the Lord. Although he was officially retired, he operated a saw mill in Bronston, and welded for anyone that asked. He also enjoyed farming, and he loved to hunt. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and leaves a vast host of relatives who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Griffith and Bro. David Muse officiating. Burial will follow in the Quinton Cemetery at Bronston, KY. The family of Mr. Virgil Bray will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
