Miss Kierra Grace Matheny

Miss Kierra Grace Matheny, the daughter of Kerry and Kimberly Slone Matheny, was born in Somerset, Kentucky on January 3, 2003 and she went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2013 having attained the age of 10 years and 7 months. Other than her parents, other survivors include; three brothers, Kaden N. Matheny, Kai D. Matheny, and Kendall K. Matheny all of Somerset, KY; her paternal grandparents, Bill and Karen Franklin of Peebles, OH; her maternal grandparents, Jim and Maxine Slone of Hindman, KY and a host of other relatives, friends and church families who mourn her passing. Kierra was a precious gift from God. She had a heart full of love for God and her family. She always had a beautiful smile and was so sweet, caring and giving. She loved singing, dancing, snuggling babies and playing with her brothers and friends. At the tender age of 10, she knew the importance of giving to missions and charities, she actively dedicated some of her own money with the following two charitable organizations that were extremely close to her heart; Samaritans Purse and the Global Response Network. Funeral services will be held at the Pulaski Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 12:00 noon with Tom Zurowski officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services. The family of Miss Kierra Grace Matheny will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013. In lieu of flowers, Kierra's family requests expressions of sympathy go to the charities that were closest to her heart; Samaritans Purse, or the Global Response Network.
