Mrs. Ruth Gover Clouse

Ruth Gover Clouse, daughter of the late Elmore “Doc” and Etta Colyer Gover, was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 4, 1920 and she departed this life in Somerset, Kentucky on Friday, August 2, 2013 having attained the age of 92 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Clyde Clouse, he survives. Other survivors include; four sons, Michael Thurman Clouse, William Allen (and Kathy) Clouse, James Edward (and Julie) Clouse and Thomas Lee (and Cindy) Clouse; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Shelley, Matthew, Andrew, Logan, Emily, Ben and Makenzie; one great grandson, Kaleb, and the following nieces and nephews, Marcia McDaniel Burton, Gene Gover Watkins, Jan Gover King, Don Gover, and Glen Gover, Jr. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Gover, and John Gover; the two sisters, Georgia Meece, and Eva McDaniel; two sister-in-law, Marie Coleman Gover, and Bernice Sutton Gover, and two brothers-in-law, Wilbur Thurman Meece, and Boyd McDaniel. Ruth was a Somerset High School Graduate of the class of 1936, she also attended the Rogers Business School. She began work in the Kentucky State Employment Service on November 10, 1938 and retired on March 31, 1976 as Somerset Office Supervisor of the Unemployment Insurance Program. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1954. She was also a charter member of the Glen Gover Sunday School Class. She was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at the Somerset First United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 with Rev. Jack Brewer and Rev. Steve Spitzer officiating. Mr. Jack Wilson, Matthew, Andrew and Logan Clouse, and her sons, Tom, Bill, Mike and Jim Clouse will serve as Pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Ruth Gover Clouse will receive friends at the Somerset First United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. Monday August 12, 2013 until after services. In Lieu of flowers the family request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Somerset First United Methodist Church Missions Fund or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Ruth Gover Clouse.
