Betty Joyce Taylor, daughter of the late Virgil and May Cress Taylor, was born on August 2, 1931 and she departed this life on July 16, 2013 at the age of 81 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. John Edward Taylor, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; one son, Phillip Ralph Taylor and his wife Lois Jean Taylor of Somerset, Kentucky; two grandsons, Richard Allen Taylor and John Phillip Galen Taylor. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Allen Taylor; one brother, James Thomas Taylor and one sister, Maude Jones. Betty was a member of the Old Fashioned Faith Baptist Church where she was active as long as her health would permit. She was also a Sunday School teacher for several years. She was a housewife and owned and operated a grocery store for 25 years. She enjoyed listening to Gospel and bluegrass music. She was a kind Christian lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnesburg Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Betty Taylor will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzhiemers Respite Center or the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Betty Taylor.
