Mrs. Betty Melton

Betty Melton, daughter of the late Edward and Elsie Hurst McElvain, was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 16, 1933 and she departed this life in Somerset, Kentucky on July 6, 2013 having attained the age of 79 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Burley Melton, he preceded her in death on November 1, 1991. Survivors include; two sons, Burl (and Susan) Melton of Morganton, North Carolina, and James Melton of Buffalo, New York; one daughter, Maureen (and Paul) Bluhm of Brentwood, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Renee Melton, Jimi Melton, Megan Melton, Bethany Bluhm and Dustin Bluhm; one sister, Candy Miller of Somerset, Kentucky and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Betty was a kind lady , she was an avid birdwatcher, and loved reading. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Buncombe Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Betty Melton will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
