Mrs. Mary I. Brown

Mary I. Brown, 86, of Somerset, KY passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center, Somerset, KY. She was born January 31, 1927 in Franklin, Indiana to the late Elmer Henry and Ida Emerson Grooms. She retired from the Somerset School System where she worked in the lunch rooms of Hopkins Elementary and Meece Middle Schools. She was also a member of the Duke Memorial Baptist Church in Somerset, KY. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Brown, to whom she was united in marriage on January 12, 1945; three brothers, Bill, Arthur, and John Grooms; and one sister, Alene Grooms. Survivors include; one daughter, Lois Ann (Brown) Foster of Somerset, Kentucky; one son, Keith Edward Brown of Nicholasville, KY; one sister, Marie Howard of Greenwood, Indiana; four half sisters, Ethel Mae Hicks of Greenwood, IN, Loretta Anderson of OH, Virginia Anderson of FL, and Janette Todd of OH; two half brothers, David Grooms of IL, and Chester Grooms of IL; and one grandson, Marty Lee Foster of Somerset, KY and one great grandson, Brandon Foster. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday Morning, July 9, 2013 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. David Morris officiating, burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Mary I. Brown will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2013.
