Mellia Creech, daughter of the late Henry and Stella Smith Wright, was born October 18, 1925 at Shopville, Kentucky, and she departed this life at her residence at Ano, Kentucky in the presence of her family on Sunday, June 16, 2013 having attained the age of 87 years.
She is survived by; her husband Mr. Russell Creech after 69 years of wonderful marriage. Other survivors include; two sisters-in-law, Helen Wright of Somerset, Kentucky and Fern Wright of Somerset, Kentucky, Sue Caldwell of Somerset, Kentucky and Myrtle Creech of Somerset, Kentucky.
The family wishes to express a special word of Thanks to Helen at this time. Also surviving are; three sons, Russell Jr. (and Cheryle) Creech of Somerset, KY, James “Bo” Creech of Somerset, Kentucky and David (and Rayma) Creech of Jamestown, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Russell Creech III, Rusty (and Angie) Creech, Holly (and Bobby) Head, Rebecca (and Jordon) Jones , and Brent Creech all of Somerset, Kentucky, and Derick Creech of Ohio; 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and Doug (and Sarah) Turner whom she loved as her own.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by ; four brothers, Everett Wight, Charles Dicky (and Mary) Wright, Riley Wright, and Steven Wright; and two sisters, Kathleen (and Rawley) Linville and Christine (and George) Barnes.
Mrs. Creech enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. David Hawk and Rick Lawson officiating, burial will follow in the Short Creek Cemetery.
The family of Mellia Creech will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 19, 2013 until time for services at noon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Short Creek Cemetery Fund.
