Willard Lee Phelps

Mr. Willard Lee Phelps, son of the late Robert Earl and Cleam Adams Phelps, was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on July 20, 1938, and departed this life on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 having attained the age of 74 years. He is survived by his wife; Doris J. Miller Phelps, whom he married on June 14th, 1969. He was the loving father of Tonya (and Gary) Lamar and Gretchen (and Dr. Steve) DeMunbrun both of Somerset, Kentucky. He was also a devoted grandfather to his five grandchildren whom he adored; they are, Alexander DeMunbrun, Shelby Lamar, Holly DeMunbrun, Wesley Lamar and Eric DeMunbrun. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Winston E. Phelps. Willard was a graduate of Campbellsville University and attained his Masters Degree from the University of Kentucky. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. A retired Quality Control Analyst Supervisor for the Cabinet for Families and Children; and he was also a member of the East Somerset Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Darvie Fenison officiating, burial will follow in the West Somerset Cemetery. The family of Mr. Willard Lee Phelps will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013. In lieu of flowers the family of Mr. Phelps requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Building Fund of the East Somerset Baptist Church. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Willard Lee Phelps.
