Walter Flynn, age. 89 of Somerset, was born in Wayne County Kentucky on August 3, 1918. He is the son of the late General Sherman and Ollie Bell (Nichols) Flynn. Mr. Flynn departed this life on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He is preceded in death by three sons, Boyce Lee, Jimmy Edwin and Roy Wayne Flynn, also preceding him in death is one daughter Jewell Dean, and one grandchild Jody Lee Flynn.
Mr. Flynn is survived by a lovely wife Hattie Jane (Mitchell) Flynn, they were united in marriage on December 4, 1939, also surviving are three sons, Arnold (Wanda), Harold (Jennifer), and Darrell (Debbie) Flynn all of Somerset. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three Grandsons, Anthony (Melinda) Flynn, Jayson (Crystal) Flynn, and Josh Flynn and his special friend Lynzey Wilson, four Granddaughters, Tammy (Jamie) Robinson, Crystal Flynn Hansford, Jessica (Luke) Stevenson, Megan Flynn and her fiancé Kevin Dietzel. Mr. Flynn also leaves behind five Great Grandchildren, Braxton and Brenna Robinson, Trenton Flynn, Taylor Hansford, Maddox Flynn and Jayzlin
Mr. Flynn was a farmer and member of the Slate Branch Baptist Church.
Services for Mr. Flynn will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Slate Branch Baptist Church with Brothers Gilbert Robinson, J.S. New and Bill Dawson officiating.
The family of Mr. Flynn will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home. Mr. Flynn will also lay in state at the church from 12 noon until time of services.
In lieu of flowers family request that expressions of sympathy may be made to The Gideons Memorial Bible Plan.
